VA Veterans PTSD

How veterans obtain VA compensation for PTSD

POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

To obtain compensation for PTSD, the VA requires:

  1. a current PTSD diagnosis;

  2. medical evidence establishing that PTSD was caused or aggravated by military service;

  3. credible evidence of an in-service stressor.

Typical PTSD symptoms include:

  • Recurring memories or nightmares of the event(s)
  • Insomnia
  • Numbness
  • Little interest in activities
  • Isolation or avoidance of people
  • Anger, irritability, and emotional outbursts
  • Memory loss
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Substance use as a coping mechanism

If your PTSD claim was denied, I can help.

The VA often denies PTSD claims due to the lack of a diagnosis or insufficient medical evidence linking a PTSD diagnosis to an in-service stressor. That's where I come in. I will comb your military service, VA treatment, and private medical records to make sure that the VA did not ignore evidence favorable to your case. Where necessary, I will work with a private psychologist to get you an in-depth, independent medical examination and psychology report; that's how I make sure that you receive a sufficient and unbiased PTSD examination.
