Derek T. Smith, Esq.
Derek grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area prior to joining the Air Force. While on active duty, Derek served as an intelligence analyst providing command and aircrew with operations and current intelligence briefings in support of F-22 and C-17 missions. He was stationed in Texas, Alaska, and finally Colorado, where he was honorably discharged.
Having decided to stay in Colorado after service, Derek moved to Boulder where he completed both his B.A. and J.D. at the University of Colorado. He spent two years helping veterans with a wide range of disabilities win cases before the Board of Veterans' Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims during law school, and he's been representing veterans since.
As a veteran, Derek knows firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate the VA; that's why his practice is devoted to helping veterans across the Nation obtain the benefits that they earned in service to our country.
